Q:
What is the best file type to upload to this website to get the highest quality images on the acrylic? (i.e PDF, JPEG, etc)
Asked 9 months ago by Levern
A:

When preparing files for printing, the best file type depends on the type of print project and the specific requirements of the printer. However, here are some of the most commonly recommended file types for high-quality printing:

1. PDF (Portable Document Format):

  • Best For: Most print projects including documents, brochures, posters, and more.
  • Why: PDFs are versatile, maintain high quality, and preserve fonts, images, and layout regardless of the software or device used to open them. They also support both vector and raster images.
  • Tip: Ensure the PDF is saved with high-resolution settings (usually 300 DPI) and include bleed and crop marks if needed.

2. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format):

  • Best For: High-quality images, photos, and detailed graphics.
  • Why: TIFF files are lossless, meaning they retain all the original image data without compression, ensuring the highest possible quality for printing.
  • Tip: Use CMYK color mode for print and ensure the resolution is set to 300 DPI or higher.

3. AI (Adobe Illustrator):

  • Best For: Vector graphics, logos, illustrations, and designs with text.
  • Why: AI files are native to Adobe Illustrator and are ideal for vector-based designs. They can be resized without losing quality.
  • Tip: Outline all text and embed any linked images before sending the file to the printer.

4. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript):

  • Best For: Vector graphics, logos, and illustrations.
  • Why: EPS is widely supported across various design and print software. It maintains high quality and can include both vector and raster elements.
  • Tip: Similar to AI files, make sure to outline text and embed images.

5. PSD (Adobe Photoshop):

  • Best For: Complex images, photo editing, and layered designs.
  • Why: PSD files are native to Adobe Photoshop and support layers, making them ideal for detailed image editing and complex designs.
  • Tip: Flatten the image and convert to CMYK mode before saving as a TIFF or PDF for printing.

General Tips:

  • Color Mode: Always use CMYK color mode for print, as it represents the colors used in printing (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).
  • Resolution: Ensure images are at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) to maintain print quality.
  • Bleed and Crop Marks: Include these if the design goes to the edge of the paper.

For most print projects, a high-resolution PDF with embedded fonts and images is the safest and most versatile choice.

Q:
can you print with white ink?
Asked 11 months ago by Edwin T.
A:

Certainly! To make sure the artwork is opaque, we can add white ink to the artwork!

Q:
Possible to make a memorial plaque showing different pictures and titles that apply to him throughout his life. Is acrylic a possibility or would something different work better?

Q:
Is there a option for a stand for the print to stand it on a tabletop as apposed to the standoffs that need to be hung on a wall?
Asked a year ago by Sara S.
A:

Table top banner comes with a base for it to stand. It can be retracted if not used.

Q:
How do the acrylic prints stand up on an outdoor lanai without direct sunlight?
Asked a year ago by Gary C.
A:

These can be mounted on walls using standoffs. Even without direct sunlight, these acrylic signs should still be visible as long as there is a source of light near them.

Q:
We want to use printed documents for our prints. What is the best format to scan and save them into?
Asked a year ago by Cyndi M.
A:

To make sure that files will be printed with great quality, it would be best for you to provide us with a vector file and save it as a PDF. If you would like a printed document to be printed, you may scan it and also save it as a PDF, but it will not have the same quality as the vector file. You may, however, try to fill out the form below to see if this is something that our in-house graphic designers can help you with. Don't worry, it's for free!

Q:
Is the print on to acrylic simi transparent or is it opaque to light? Could I make a flat sided lamp shade that illuminates some when the light is on?
Asked a year ago by Stan M.
A:

Your artwork will be printed directly onto crystal-clear acrylic. Direct printing on acrylic offers astounding picture clarity and detail while creating a beautiful optical depth to your image. You can use a light source to enhance your print. When doing so, we recommend not shining light directly on a second surface print, as the glare from the light can diminish the image clarity. Further, acrylic photo prints aren't intended to be used as backlit signs. Lastly, We do not offer lighting options for our acrylic prints.

Should you want to check the different materials we print your orders on, you can request for a sample kit here:

Q:
can you print a picture in 3 panels
Asked a year ago by dorina
A:

We can certainly accommodate a three-panel acrylic sign featuring your printed picture. Just ensure you select the correct size for the acrylic. Also, make sure the resolution is suitable for printing, as high-resolution images ensure better clarity. Divide your picture into three equal parts using photo editing software such as Photoshop or online tools. Each part should fit the size of your acrylic panels.

Q:
I recently bough a acrylic photo with a 1/4" holes but I realize that does not have the standoff of a 1/4" and it does n to give an option to include its on the order.. do you guys have this available for a 1/4" hole so my next purchase I can include them
Asked a year ago by Julio B.
A:

Currently, the standoffs we have available are for 3/8” drilled holes. Should you want the stand-off to be an option for your next order, it is definitely available if you choose the 3/8" hole drill size.
