Vinyl Banners Features
Flush Cut
When we produce your banner, we guarantee a seamless flush cut. This is the only edge option for 18 oz. vinyl banners due to the nature of the material.
Welded Hem
With 13 oz. vinyl banners, we provide the option to add a welded hem to the edges of your banner. This gives the banner a smooth finished edge. Welded hem is only available for 13 oz. vinyl banners.
Single Sided
When printing your design on a 13 oz. or 18 oz. vinyl banner, the default option is set to single-sided printing, which leaves the back side of your banner blank.
Double Sided
If you'd like your design to be printed on both sides of your vinyl banner, this option is available on our 18 oz. vinyl banners. Printing your banner doublesided on an 18 oz. vinyl will also have a flush cut edge.
Pole Pocket
Depending on your end use, you may want to include pole pockets on your vinyl banner. Pole pockets are sewn and leave a flush cut edge, and they’re compatible with both single or double-sided banners. We currently offer optional 3” pole pockets for both 13 oz. and 18 oz. banners, but they are not available to go with grommets.
Grommets
When hanging or attaching your banner during installation, you may want to add grommets to your banner. Grommets are optional and available on both 13 oz. and 18 oz. vinyl banners, and they can be added within every 12-18 inches, 18-24 inches, 2-3 feet, or in the four corners of the banner. When pole pockets are selected, grommets will not be available to go with your order.

Frequently Asked Questions
PVC banners generally float on water, though it depends on a few factors. PVC vinyl has unique properties such as density, air pockets, and water resistance that let it float on bodies of water. Meanwhile, the shape, quality, weight, and tensile strength will determine how long the banners will float.
How durable are vinyl banners when used in outdoor marine environments?
Vinyl banners are viable for outdoor marine environments, though you must avail high-quality banners with UV-protection coating that will require constant care and maintenance for your banners. A well-maintained vinyl banner can resist harsh marine environments, withstand saltwater and sunlight, and last a long time.
What sizes are available for vinyl banners tailored to boat-related needs
You can choose from various banner sizes depending on your specific boat-related needs. If you need a banner to promote boat shows or marine events, avail yourself of a large banner that can be seen from far distances. If you plan to bring your banner on water, you can order custom banner sizes that can fit your boat and support it when displayed.
Can vinyl banners withstand exposure to saltwater and sunlight?
Vinyl banners can withstand exposure to saltwater and sunlight to a certain extent. Vinyl is highly water-resistant and can get drenched without fading or getting damaged. Still, you can extend the banner's lifespan through regular maintenance. Regular cleaning is always done to remove accumulated salt deposits on your banner. You can also avail banners with UV coating applied so they will not fade even with prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Are vinyl banners customizable with boat-related graphics or logos?
Yes! You can customize your vinyl banner design with boat-related graphics, texts, and images. You can choose the sizes and types of banners you want and include your artwork before having these printed and installed on your boat or displayed on your boat show. You can also avail of online banner services to help you design your maritime banners and print them on high-quality mediums like vinyl, mesh, or fabric.
Are vinyl banners suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater environments?
Vinyl banners are suitable for use in freshwater and saltwater environments. PVC vinyl is durable and water-resistant, perfect for moist and wet environments. Some vinyl banners have a protective coating to prevent saltwater damage, especially on their surface. If you are designing and ordering vinyl banners for your boats or marine-themed events, ensure that the vinyl you are getting is high-quality and has a protective finish. Also, make sure to clean and maintain the banner properly to prolong its lifespan.
Questions and Answers
Click “Get Started!” and choose the blank template option. You can also choose the blank template option from our Popular Templates section on the custom vinyl banners page. Once you’re on our design tool, click “Upload Image” and select your file to upload. The file types we accept are listed in the previous question and the maximum size photo file you can upload is 25MB. Once your picture has been uploaded, arrange it how you want it on the banner and add any text you want accompanying it. Make sure you view your proof before purchasing your photo banner. You can also send us a description so we can design something for free.
When it comes to the letters on your banner, think big. If your letters are 4” tall, 40 feet is the furthest optimal distance for viewers to visibly read the sign. If you make your letters 15”, then the furthest optimal impact distance is 150 feet. A general rule is letter height needs to be 1” for every 10 feet of visibility. Having said this, your sign will still be visible beyond the “furthest optimal distance” and is typically viewable 3-4.5x farther than the maximum optimal distance. For example, 3” letters will be best viewed within 30 feet and will be able to be viewed at a maximum distance of approximately 90’-135’.
Other considerations that impact viewability include: where you place your sign, what the viewers will be doing when seeing your sign (walking, driving, standing still), lighting, colors used, design of the sign and your target market’s eyesight. Once you choose your letter height, you can determine what size your large banner needs to be to fit your letters, clearly display your message and look good.
In a nutshell our best advice is to think big and simple with your banner and letter size to have the greatest impact. If you’re still unsure of how big your sign should be feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to help!
Yes, we offer 3” tall, horizontal pole pockets for both our 13 oz and 18 oz vinyl banners. To add a pole pocket(s) to your banner, select the option in the design tool. Pole pocket locations will be indicated by dotted lines on the artboard of the design tool depending on which option you choose. While your design or text can be placed in this area we cannot make guarantees that it will be visible when sewn. We recommend avoiding putting any text or design elements inside the pole pocket areas as indicated on the design tool.
Pole pockets can be included on both single and double sided banners (double sided banners are only available in 18 oz vinyl). Pole pockets can be placed on the top only or both the top and bottom of the banner (bottom only pole pockets are not available). Adding pole pockets will slightly increase the cost of your banner.
Your banner size includes the pole pockets. As an example, a 24” high banner will have approximately 18” of space for your design if you were to select top and bottom pole pockets. If you need an exact amount of space for your design, we recommend adding 3-6” to your size to account for your pole pocket(s).
Please note that adding pole pockets to a 13 oz banner means there will not be the standard welded hem. For 18 oz banners, regardless of whether there are pole pockets or not, there is no welded hem.
Yes, we can produce banners with Velcro. Though these banners are a custom order and in order to buy them you will need to contact us.
Velcro banners make an already versatile sign option into a sign that can be adapted for many purposes. We’ve produced Velcro banners for parades, sponsorships banners, annual sales and more. In all of these cases the majority of the banner remains the same year to year but a certain part is built with velcro so it can be switched as needed.
Banners with Velcro will have a Velcro portion as part of the actual banner itself. Additionally, customers oftentimes buy replaceable smaller banners (i.e. 24”x24”) with Velcro on the back side of the smaller pieces. These smaller pieces can then be swapped out on the bigger banner by using the Velcro on the back side of the smaller banners.
No, we not sell banners with slits. We’ve found that wind slits, which are designed to lessen the impact of high winds on a banner, often are ineffective in protecting a banner against high winds. We recommend that banners be taken down if extreme weather is imminent. If you live where high winds are frequent, we would recommend our mesh banners instead.
