What Are Fleet Graphics?

In simple terms, fleet graphics are vinyl adhesive decals applied to the exterior of a variety of vehicles in order to both enhance branding and leverage vehicles' high visibility as an advertising or marketing channel. Fleet graphics can come in three different forms as described below.

Fleet Lettering

The most basic fleet graphics are vinyl lettering for vehicles. This option consists of your message being cut from solid colored vinyl. Messaging is primarily text but simple vector graphics will also work. Lettering can be done in more than 30 colors but can not contain printed photos or gradients. Fleet lettering is pre-masked and applied all at once. Typical uses include company name, contact information, and simple logos. Fleet Lettering

Spot Graphics

Spot graphics can include both images and text. Your design is printed onto, not cut from, adhesive vinyl that is then applied to your vehicle’s surface. Because it is printed it doesn’t have the same limitations as fleet lettering and can be any color, gradient, and more. More complex graphics and logos for branding purposes short of a full graphics are the most common use of spot graphics. Complex logos as spot graphics can be combined with vinyl lettering to get the perfect look. Spot Graphics

Care

Fleet lettering can be washed on a regular basis with a damp non-abrasive rag so as to not damage the lettering nor the vehicle in any way. When cleaning, do not use strong cleaners or scrub vigorously as both of these actions may damage and/or peel away the lettering from the surface where applied. While hand washing is the recommended cleaning method, low pressure power washers and most car washes are both safe ways to clean your fleet lettering when done with care.

Fleet Spot Graphics

Fleet Graphics Artboard 23

Big or small our custom fleet graphics are the perfect way to brand all of your company’s vehicles. Printed spot graphics have no limitations on colors, gradients or other printed elements. All printed elements will be on one continuous piece of material (graphics that have both dimensions over 52” will need to be paneled) in contrast to vinyl lettering which consists of individual letters. By default the background color will be white but can be printed in any color that matches your brand. Spot graphics can also be cut to shape to complete your customization. Spot graphics have a protective laminate that make them water and weatherproof for graphics that will last for years to come.

Spot graphics are the perfect solution for complex logos, large one off graphics on the sides of painted vehicles and much more. If you’re looking for large vehicle graphics without doing a partial or full wrap, spot graphics are exactly what you are looking for.

Q:
How thick is it?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Fleet lettering is 2 mil or .002" thick. The material itself is an excellent combination of durability and aesthetics.

Q:
What is the default color? Is it a transparent material?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:
The material by default is white and is not transparent. Unprinted areas will appear white.
Q:
Does it have a laminate?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Yes. Our vinyl fleet graphics have a durable but thin laminate that helps extend the lifespan of the product and maintain the vibrant printing.

Q:
Is it safe for outdoor use?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Yes! Without a doubt, our fleet graphics are intended for outdoor use! These custom graphics will last for years to come despite the wear and tear of daily use on fleet vehicles. Unless you are driving in temperatures less than -65F or above 225F you should be safe.

Q:
Can my fleet graphics be cut to shape?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Yes. We offer multiple shape options for our fleet graphics including: square/rectangle, rounded corners (1/4" or 1" radius), circle/oval, custom, or custom with border. You can have your custom fleet graphics cut to the exact shape you want with custom cut (previously known as or sometimes referred to as contour cut) or have a small border around the entire design (custom with boarder - previously known as halo cut). Your preferred shape can be selected on our design tool. Partial and full fleet graphics by nature are custom. Thus, you will not select a specific type of cut but work directly with our graphic designers to make sure it matches the exact dimensions and uniqueness of your fleet vehicles.

Q:
Do my fleet vehicles need to be flat to have a wraps installed?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

No. One of the main advantages of vinyl fleet graphics is that the intended application surface does not need to be flat like is the case for many of our other vehicle and window decals. These graphics will work on both flat and non-flat surfaces including rivets, corrugations, and simple and compound curves.

Q:
Any restrictions on what I can print?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Nope! We print everything in full color and there are no restrictions on what you can print for your custom fleet graphics. The only exception is that they need to fall within our terms of service.

Q:
Are the graphics temporary or permanent?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Graphics are intended to be semi-permanent in nature. This means that once applied or installed you will not be able to reposition nor remove and reuse them. But they can be removed when you are ready to dispose of them or update your fleet's look or branding.

Q:
How is my pricing determined?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

Pricing is determined by the size of your graphic, quantity and any other options you may select. Of course, taxes, shipping, and installation services if needed will add to your final price.

Q:
How small/big can my fleet graphics be?
Asked 2 years ago by Signs
A:

For spot graphics for your fleet the smallest size our industrial printers can print is 6"x6". On the opposite end of the spectrum the largest is 52"x400". Graphics that have both dimensions over 52" will need to be paneled. If you need help designing these don't hesitate to contact us for free design services. Our professional installation services also make installation of large graphics pain free. Thus, in working with one of our professional graphic designers we'll make sure you get exactly what you need despite the size restrictions of the material.
